Themed Trip

Authentic
Stay

Living the Caribbean from the inside

There is a Guadeloupe and a Martinique that guidebooks don't show. The one of markets that smell of cocoa and vanilla, of gwo ka rhythms echoing through courtyards in the evening, of Creole gardens where plants grow that you never knew existed, of craftspeople working calabash or weaving coconut palm leaves with a precision passed down through generations.

That Caribbean is real. You just need to know which door to knock on. That's exactly what I do for you: build encounters and experiences with locals who share their daily life, their expertise and their culture with a generosity that stays with you forever.

What I weave together for you in an Authentic Stay:

Colourful local market in the Caribbean, Creole fruits and spices
01 — Guadeloupe & Martinique

Intimate local lunch

Imagine a fully local lunch, far from tourist restaurants: at someone's home, at a table set in the shade of a mango tree, or with your feet in the water beside a river. Dishes cooked that morning with whatever the market offered: Creole black pudding, curried goat colombo, christophine gratin, homemade ti-punch. To go further, we organise a private cooking workshop with a local cook: you choose the menu, you get your hands in it, and you leave with recipes you won't forget.

Fort-de-France, cultural capital of Martinique
02 — Guadeloupe & Martinique

Music & traditional rhythms

In the Caribbean, music isn't a performance: it's a way of being together. Gwo ka in Guadeloupe, bélé in Martinique, kompa, zouk, drums rolling through village evenings. We connect you with musicians who share their practice outside of any stage: a drumming initiation session, an evening in a neighbourhood rehearsal room, or a gwo ka gathering like those still held in Capesterre or Sainte-Anne. And if you visit between January and March, carnival turns every street into an open-air stage.

Banana plantation in Guadeloupe, agrotourism in the Caribbean
03 — Guadeloupe & Martinique

Agrotourism

The Caribbean land produces treasures that few travellers take the time to discover. Sugarcane, bananas, cocoa, vanilla, coffee, spices: each crop tells a story, that of a territory shaped by centuries of labour and knowledge. We organise visits to fields and Creole gardens with passionate farmers, agricultural rum distilleries where you understand each step of production, and tasting workshops that awaken the senses. A way of understanding the Caribbean through its roots, literally and figuratively.

Artisanal coconut work by a local in the Caribbean
04 — Guadeloupe & Martinique

Craft workshops

These artisans spend hours transforming what nature gives them into objects of remarkable beauty and precision. Jewellery made from natural seeds, calabash sculptures and objects, coconut palm leaf weaving, Creole basketry: each workshop is as much a meeting as it is a lesson. We select craftspeople who love to share their craft, who speak about their materials, their gestures and their heritage with infectious passion. You leave with something made by your own hands and a story to tell.
